Lera Auerbach, born Valeria Lvovna Averbakh on October 21, 1973, in Chelyabinsk (USSR), is a Russian-born American composer, pianist, poet, and writer. She has authored six collections of poetry and prose, with her first collection published at the age of 14. Auerbach's literary works have appeared in Russian magazines and Russian-language publications abroad.
