Les Bantous De La Capitale is a renowned Congolese rumba band that was formed in August 1959 by former musicians. The group gained significant popularity in the early 1960s. Key members of the band include Édouard Nganga, also known as "Célio," who served as a vocalist and was a founder member from 1959 to 1962, 1964 to 1972, and 1979 to 1990. Another founder member, Daniel "Essou" Loubelo, contributed as a vocalist and bassist from 1959 to 1962. The band also featured a variety of instrumentalists, including a flutist and saxophonist who was a member from 1959 to 1969 and again from 1972 onwards, and a drummer who was part of the group since its inception. The lineup included other notable musicians, such as a lead guitarist active from 1959 to 1961, a rhythm guitarist who was with the band from 1959 to 1961, and a lead guitarist named Joseph Samba who joined in 1963. The group also had vocalists like Côme, who was with the band from 1965 to 1972, and Antoine Nedule "Montswet," who played lead guitar from 1961 to 1963.
