Les Chansonettes were a female soul group from Baltimore, Maryland, active during the 1960s and 1970s. The group featured lead singer BJ Douglass, who showcased her talent at the young age of seven, winning a Lloyd Price Talent Show at the Royal Theatre in Baltimore. In her early teens, BJ, along with Norma, Barbara, and Heysette, formed Les Chansonettes to compete in their high school talent show, where they achieved success in various talent competitions. The group recorded a national hit with "Don't Let Him Hurt You" and "Deeper" under the Shrine Recording Company in Washington, D.C. BJ also recorded "I Almost Left You" with Fran and Marilyn from Washington, D.C.
