Les Gammas is a Future Jazz / Nu Jazz project from Augsburg, Germany, founded by DJ and drummer Marc A. Frank alongside singer and pianist C. Jochen Helfert. Jochen previously played the Rhodes in a Brazil-jazz combo with Les Gammas' live bassist, P. E. Spier, where he explored his own ideas of harmonics and sound. In 1999, Les Gammas performed live in clubs and at festivals, including the Fez Jazz Festival in Bari, Italy, the Wiesen Festival in Austria, and Jazz 2010 in Aarhus, Denmark. The group has since split to pursue different projects.
