Les Hippies is a one-time sitar-beat project formed by Markey Funk, Tavor Ben-Dor, and Ohad Zrihen in Jerusalem. Their sound draws inspiration from sitar-driven groove tunes of the late 60s and early 70s, reminiscent of artists like Serge Gainsbourg and Ananda Shankar. The group's name is derived from a club featured in Jean Gabin's movie "Le Pacha." They recorded a two-sided single, with the b-side "Soleil Couchant" included in the "Mediterranean Grooves and Raw Sounds" compilation.
