Les Nubians is a French afropean soul duo formed by sisters Hélène and Célia Faussart. They began their musical journey in the mid-90s by singing a cappella, creating poetry slams in Bordeaux and Paris, and providing background vocals for various artists worldwide. The duo has achieved significant success in the U.S., particularly known for their Billboard R&B single "Makeda" from their Grammy-nominated debut album. In 1999, Les Nubians won the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards for Best New Artist, Group or Duo, and they received two NAACP Image Awards nominations in 2000.
