Leslie Winer (born December 24, 1958, in Boston, MA) is an enigmatic figure in the music and fashion worlds. She gained recognition as a model in New York, known for her challenging demeanor that intrigued fashion enthusiasts. Winer's early connections included influential figures such as William Burroughs and Jean-Michel Basquiat. She later stepped away from the modeling scene to create "Witch," an album hailed by NME as the "grandmother of trip hop." After a period of relative obscurity, she has made occasional appearances providing vocals for various artists. Currently, Winer resides in France and serves as co-editor and co-executor for the Estate of Beat writer Herbert Huncke.
