Lester Tipton was a talented dancer originally from Detroit, USA. He gained popularity in his youth alongside his twin sister Leslie as performers on "Swinging Time," a local variety television show. The twins became high school celebrities in the late 1960s, known for their fashionable style and impressive dance skills. They represented Detroit on Dick Clark's "American Bandstand," winning national recognition by topping the grand finals in 1968, which earned them two cars and a trip for their parents to Florida. After achieving success, Lester and Leslie pursued their interests in California, where they were involved in fashion and film. They appeared on television shows such as "Dynasty" and "The Love Boat." Tragically, Lester's life was cut short when his body was discovered by his sister in 1982; he had been beaten and robbed. At the time of his death, he was 33 years old and living in Los Angeles, having returned to California after a year in New York, where he graduated from a school of cosmetology. In Detroit, he attended Goldberg Elementary, Hutchins Junior High, and Northern High Schools, and was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
