Letta Mbulu is a South African singer born on August 23, 1942, and raised in Soweto. As a teenager, she toured with the King Kong musical ensemble. In the 1960s, she left South Africa due to the political environment and moved to the USA, where she collaborated with various artists. Her voice is featured on the soundtrack of the successful TV series "Roots." After 26 years of self-imposed exile, she returned to South Africa, where she is married.
