Lew Williams was an American rockabilly singer and musician, born on January 12, 1934, in Chillicothe, Texas. He was active in the music industry during the 1950s and the early 1960s before leaving the business at the end of 1963. His songs from the 1950s gained unexpected popularity during the rockabilly and rock 'n' roll revival of the 1980s and 1990s. One of his titles inspired the name of the English music magazine "Cat Talk." In April 2000, he headlined the Viva Las Vegas Rock 'n' Roll Festival and subsequently performed at various rockabilly festivals in Europe, more than 40 years after his original recordings. Lew Williams passed away on September 1, 2019, in Texas.
