LFO (Low Frequency Oscillation) was a pioneering British electronic music project formed by Mark Bell and Gez Varley in 1988. Known for their groundbreaking self-titled debut single on Warp Records, LFO helped define the sound of early UK techno and the “bleep” scene of the early 1990s. Their fusion of minimal techno, acid house, and experimental electronic textures influenced generations of producers. After Varley’s departure, Bell continued LFO as a solo project, producing acclaimed work and collaborating with artists such as Björk until his passing in 2014.
