Lightnin' Hopkins was an American country blues singer, songwriter, and guitarist, born on March 15, 1912, in Centerville, Leon County, Texas, USA. He passed away on January 30, 1982, in Houston, Texas, USA. In 1920, Hopkins met a legendary figure at a social function, which provided him the opportunity to play alongside him. His cousin was also involved in music. While performing together in Houston in 1946, he was discovered by Lola Anne Cullum of Los Angeles. Hopkins first recorded with pianist Wilson Smith, and they were marketed as 'Lightning' & 'Thunder.' He produced strong recordings throughout his career, including the notable song "Mojo Hand" in 1960. Hopkins later inspired many artists. He was often miscredited for writing the 1954 song "I Feel So Bad," which was covered by various artists. Additionally, he wrote a song by the same name, released in 1947 and again in 1962.
