Lightwave is a synth-sequencer band from Paris, France, formed in 1985. They primarily play in the abstract "Kosmische" Berlin-School style, while also exploring avant-garde electronic and electroacoustic music. The core members of the band are Christian Whitman and Christoph Harbonnier. Initially, the group expanded to a trio with the addition of Serge Leroy, but after his departure, the duo was later joined by former Tangerine Dream member Paul Haslinger, who features on most of their later recordings.
