Lillo Thomas is an R'n'B singer, songwriter, painter, and athlete born in 1961 in Brooklyn, New York, U.S. Before embarking on his singing career in the mid-1980s, he was a highly successful athlete who qualified for the 1984 Olympics and set a world record for the 200 meters at 20.8 seconds at the age of sixteen. An automobile accident in Brazil ended his athletic career but marked the beginning of his journey in soul music. Lillo landed a solo recording deal after working as a session singer and writing for other artists, including "Mind Up Tonight," which reached No.25 on the R'n'B Charts, No.17 on the Hot Dance Charts, and No.22 on the U.K. chart. He became a leading soul star of the New York Hush sound with his debut album, released in 1983, which peaked at No.23 on the R'n'B charts and included hits like "(You're A) Good Girl" (No.22 on R'n'B) and "Who Do You Think You Are?" He also covered the 1970 classic "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)," which reached No.79 on the R'n'B chart.
