Gerry Limpic and Mark Rayburn were part of the Southern California "Jesus Movement" in the early 1970s. They met when Gerry and his brother Ted were involved in a San Diego group that released a self-titled LP in 1972. After The Random Sample disbanded, they collaborated with fellow Jesus Music follower Dave Pollard, a recording engineer and bassist from the San Diego area, to create a self-released Christian LP of folk-rock in 1976. This LP was soon picked up for national distribution by Waco, Texas' label on the imprint. They went on to record one more LP, "Caught In The Crossfire," in 1978 before disbanding to work as session musicians in other Christian bands.
