Linear Movement was a side project of Peter Bonne that existed from 1982 to 1984, alongside his work in Autumn and Twilight Ritual. Due to the distinct musical style, Bonne decided to categorize this music under a different name, Linear Movement. The majority of the tracks were solo experiments, although he collaborated with Peter Koutstaal and Lieve Van Steerteghem, the latter providing vocals on some tracks. Despite never releasing a tape, many of Linear Movement's tracks appeared on various compilation projects globally. The only official release was a limited C30 titled 'Pulse Music' (MC 8208), which featured early solo material by Peter, as well as a significant contribution to the Line Compilation (MC 8340). Peter aimed to explore more pop-oriented compositions, diverging from the experimental nature of Twilight Ritual and Autumn. This shift was evident as Autumn transitioned from purely cosmic electronic music to song-based compositions, as seen in MC 8204 'Not Afraid To Die'. This blend of experimentation required direction and separation, leading to the establishment of Linear Movement for the pop songs. The project served as a creative incubator for Peter's future work with A Split-Second. Linear Movement continues to perform live.
