Link Wray was an American rock and roll guitarist, songwriter, and producer, known for his influential instrumental music and pioneering use of distortion in guitar playing. He was born on May 2, 1929, in Dunn, North Carolina, and gained fame in the late 1950s with his hit single "Rumble." Wray's raw sound and innovative techniques have made him a significant figure in the development of rock music, influencing many artists across various genres. He continued to perform and record music until his death on November 5, 2005. His band, Link Wray and His Ray Men, contributed to his legacy with a number of instrumental tracks that showcased his distinctive guitar work.
