Lio, born on June 17, 1962, in Mangualde, Portugal, is a Belgian-Portuguese pop singer and actress. She moved to Belgium at the age of 6 and later spent a significant amount of time in France, where her career began and flourished. Lio gained popularity in France and Belgium starting in the late 1970s and has also appeared in several French films. She is named after the comic book character Barbarella and is the sister of an actress, singer, and TV presenter.
