Liquid Liquid is an early-80s band known for their association with the legendary 99 Records label. They gained recognition for their track "Cavern," which was sampled by another artist for the hit single "White Lines." Originally, they were a more experimental group that released one 7" before reforming as Liquid Liquid, shifting to a more percussive sound. They encouraged audience participation by inviting concertgoers to bring their own percussion instruments, leading to the addition of a marimba player who impressed them at one of their shows. Liquid Liquid developed a unique sound they referred to as 'big beat.' The band initially disbanded in 1984 but later reunited to work on new material.
