Lisa Lerkenfeldt is a composer and musician based in Melbourne, known for her poetic and precise imaginative process in electroacoustic composition. She explores new registers in the field of consciousness, utilizing classical instrumentation alongside abandoned technologies to create hybrid forms through handcraft and experimental digital processing. Her work features flickering piano, tape systems, and their spatialized distortions, unfolding in repetitive motifs that invite perceptual shifts during durational encounters. Drawing from the traditions of musique concrète and classical music, Lerkenfeldt seeks altered tonalities that resonate with contemporary beauty and restraint. Her meticulous attention to detail, along with her explorations in harmonics, timbre, and improvisation, creates a diary-like intimacy in her compositions. Lerkenfeldt has performed with hybrid ensembles, augmented reality specialists, and collaborated with visual artists and filmmakers. Her debut LP, "Collagen," was released on Shelter Press in 2020, followed by the premiere of her EP "A Liquor Of Daisies" at Melbourne Music Week in 2021. In 2022, she premiered "Water Up To Her Knees," a new electroacoustic work and film, at The Substation. After national tours in Australia and Japan, her sophomore album was released in 2023 on Shelter Press. In 2024, she was a guest composer at INA GRM in Paris.
