Lisandro Mesa was a Colombian singer and accordionist, born on September 26, 1937, in Los Palmitos, Sucre, Colombia. He passed away on December 23, 2023, in Sincelejo, Colombia. Mesa played a significant role in the evolution of Cumbia, the traditional big band dance music of Colombia. In 1961, he joined Los Corraleros de Majagual and later changed the name to Lisandro Meza Y Su Combo. In 1967, he renamed his group to Lisandro Meza y Su Conjunto. In 1979, he established the band Los Hijos De La Niña Luz, which included himself and his seven sons. He married Luz Maria Dominguez, known as La Niña Luz, in 1957.
