Liza Minnelli is an American singer and actress born on March 12, 1946, in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of a singer and actress and a movie producer and director. Liza debuted on the big screen as an infant and recorded professionally for the first time in 1962. She made her stage debut in 1963 Off-Broadway and in 1965 on Broadway. Liza began starring in movies in 1969 and had back-to-back multi-album recording contracts with Capitol Records, A&M Records, and Columbia from 1964 to 1977. Her subsequent recordings were released by a variety of labels. Still active in her career, her discography is evenly split between studio albums and live albums.
