Lizandro Meza was a Colombian singer and accordionist, born on September 26, 1937, in Los Palmitos, Sucre, Colombia. He played a significant role in the evolution of Cumbia, Colombia's traditional big band dance music. In 1961, he joined Los Corraleros de Majagual, and later changed his group’s name to Lisandro Meza Y Su Combo. In 1967, he renamed his ensemble to Lisandro Meza y Su Conjunto. By 1979, he established a new band, Los Hijos De La Niña Luz, which included himself and his seven sons. He married Luz Maria Dominguez, known as La Niña Luz, in 1957. Lizandro Meza passed away on December 23, 2023, in Sincelejo, Colombia.
