Loading Zone was an American rock band formed in Oakland, California, in 1966. The original lineup included bassist Bob Kridle, drummer Ted Kozlowski (who was later replaced by George Newcom), and guitarists Peter Shapiro and Steve Dowler, both of whom had previously played in the Berkeley psychedelic rock band The Marbles. In 1968, the band recruited a new lead vocalist, Linda Tillery. The group initially disbanded in 1969 following the lack of success of their self-titled debut album. However, they reformed later that year with new members, including a guitarist, bassist, and drummer, and initially included previous horn players on tenor sax and trombone. After a few months, one of the horn players was replaced, and another drummer was brought in to play alongside the existing drummer, resulting in performances featuring two drummers simultaneously. During this brief period, the band recorded their second LP, "One for All," for their own label, Umbrella, before disbanding again in 1971.
