Loose Fur is an American supergroup consisting of members Jeff Tweedy, Glenn Kotche, and Jim O'Rourke. The collaboration began in May 2000 when Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy invited multi-instrumentalist Jim O'Rourke to perform at Chicago's Noise Pop festival. Ahead of the festival, Tweedy and O'Rourke rehearsed together, and O'Rourke brought along his friend, drummer Glenn Kotche. They worked on several new songs for Tweedy's performance at the Double Door, which later appeared on their self-titled album. The experience was so invigorating for Tweedy that he soon brought O'Rourke and Kotche into his Wilco family, with Kotche becoming Wilco's new drummer and O'Rourke mixing their landmark album, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.
