Lords of Acid is a sex-obsessed Belgian-American post-industrial/techno band founded in Antwerp in 1988. Initially formed as Major Problem, the group was one of Praga Khan's many New Beat/Hard Beat projects, featuring members Chris Inger and Harry Van Oekel. Jade 4U joined the band with the release of their first proper single. After Natalie Delaet left the band, Nikkie took over vocal duties for the early singles and the album. In 1991, the lineup changed as new members replaced Inger and Van Oekel, solidifying Lords of Acid as the main project alongside Praga Khan and others. Lady Galore became the lead singer for the 1994 album but departed in 1995 during "The Sextacy Ball" shows to join another project. Nikkie resumed as lead singer and performed on the album and the 1997 tour. In 2000, a new vocalist took over for the "Tour," which was later released on CD, along with the subsequent album that marked the first without Nikkie. The band entered a hiatus after the 2001/02 tour, as Maurice and Oliver focused on Praga Khan's solo work.
