Lorraine Ellison was born on March 17, 1931, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She began her musical career recording with two gospel groups, the Ellison Singers and the Golden Chords. In 1964, Lorraine left the Golden Chords to pursue a solo career in R&B music. Throughout the mid-1960s, she released several songs that achieved success on the R&B and pop charts. Lorraine Ellison passed away on January 31, 1983.
