Los Ángeles Azules is a Mexican cumbia band formed in 1976 by siblings Mejía Avante in Iztapalapa, Mexico City. They began recording in 1981, initially encouraged by their mother, Martha Avante Barrón, to help pay for their educational expenses. The band has achieved significant success and is known as pioneers of the "romantic cumbia" style, earning the nickname "Los Príncipes De La Cumbia En México" (The Princes Of Cumbia In Mexico). Among the siblings, only María del Consuelo did not participate in the band, and Martha Georgina left for personal reasons. The currently active members are Elías Porfirio, Jorge, José Alfredo, José Hilario, María Cristina, and María Guadalupe.
