Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) is a renowned visual and performing arts high school located on the Cal State LA campus in Los Angeles, California. Established in 1985, LACHSA operates as a public and tuition-free institution under the Los Angeles County Office of Education. The school specializes in preparing students for careers in the arts through a conservatory-style curriculum, with acceptance based on auditions. LACHSA is consistently ranked among the top arts high school programs in the United States. The school was founded by philanthropist Caroline L. Ahmanson (1918—2005), who also served on the board of trustees of the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, named in her honor.
