Los Beats was a Salvadoran band formed around 1965 by Mario Mena, Roberto Castro, Ángel Gutiérrez, German Mangandi, and José Montoya. They gained popularity in Central America during the 1970s. Some of their hits include "Por qué llorar," "Verónica," "Tú me hiciste tan dichoso," "Ámame," "Sé que me estás amando," and "No hay razón." Their music was characterized by their tendency to create Spanish versions of songs by the British band The Beatles, as well as other foreign bands.
