**Bio: Los Blue Splendor** Los Blue Splendor is a historic Chilean band formed in Valparaíso in 1964 by passionate rock and roll students. Emerging during the vibrant Nueva Ola movement, the group distinguished itself with a sound more aligned with beat, twist, and garage music, setting them apart from the more commercial pop acts of the time. The original lineup included Carlos Muñoz (vocals and guitar), Carlos González (lead guitar), Orlando Muñoz (bass), and Jorge Saavedra (drums), though the formation has changed over the years. Their name reflects the direct influence of contemporary Anglo bands like The Shadows and The Ventures, while also incorporating elements of soul, instrumental surf, and light psychedelia. Throughout the 60s and 70s, Los Blue Splendor became a reference point for danceable and youthful sounds in central Chile, particularly in Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, and Santiago. They recorded several singles on 7” format for labels such as Arena and Demon, showcasing their versatility in instrumental repertoires, international covers, and original compositions. Some of their most notable recordings include: - "Amazonas," a surf-influenced song with a catchy and simple lyric, popular on local radio. - "Tema de Lara," an instrumental version of the theme from Doctor Zhivago. - "La Batalla de Puebla," an instrumental piece with martial tones. - "No tengo dinero," an adaptation of Juan Gabriel
