Los Campos

Los Campos is a musical group that debuted on August 3, 1968, becoming one of the most significant bands in Uruguayan music during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Their repertoire, consisting of Spanish-language beat songs, garnered considerable public success, leading them to become a regular feature on the program Discodromo Show, hosted by the memorable Rubén Castillo, which increased their number of performances and tours throughout the country. In 1969, they released their first single with "Vuelve a mi/Isla de Wight," which quickly climbed the music charts. Shortly thereafter, they released another single, "Mi Reino bajo el Sol/Ama Solamente Ama," which also achieved strong sales. In 1970, they launched their first LP, "Mi Reino Bajo el Sol," followed by their second album, "Naturaleza Viva," in 1972. Their performances peaked with a concert in December 1972 at the Teatro Solís. At the end of 1973, they traveled to Europe, performing in Spain, France, and Switzerland, before disbanding in 1974. The group consisted of Juan Gadea, Enrique Machado, Gustavo Musto, Eduardo Romaniello, Ramiro Bonilla, and Aníbal González.
