Os Cariocas is a Brazilian music group that began their career in the 1940s, before the emergence of Bossa Nova. From 1963 onwards, they embraced the Bossa Nova style, contributing to the popularization of Brazilian music classics such as 'Tem Dó', 'Tim-Tim-Por-Tim-Tim', 'Ela É Carioca', and 'Pra Que Chorar'. The group experienced nine different lineups throughout its history and eventually disbanded following the death of one of its key leaders, Severino Filho, in 2016.
