Los Lobos is a multiple Grammy Award-winning American Chicano rock band founded in 1973 in Dixon, California. Their music blends influences from rock and roll, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B, blues, brown-eyed soul, and traditional Spanish and Mexican genres such as cumbia, boleros, and norteños. Francisco González, a founding member of Los Lobos, played with the band from 1973 to 1976 and was a pioneer in guitar string innovation. He was not featured on the band's debut album of Mexican folk music released in 1977. González passed away on March 30, 2022, at the age of 68.
