Los Locos, formed in 1992 by Roby "Borillo" Boribello (guitar and bass) and Paolo Franchetto (keyboards), are known for popularizing Latin American rhythms and sounds in Italy, where such music had previously struggled to gain traction. Both members are of Venezuelan origin. The duo achieved significant success with their covers of popular Latin hits, including "El Menaito," "El Tiburon," "Macarena," and "Tic Tic Tac," earning Gold and Platinum status for many of their releases due to increased public awareness. In 2000, they collaborated with Kid Creole, known for his work with Kid Creole and the Coconuts.
