Los Pakines is a Cumbia, Merengue, and Rock band from Rímac, Lima, Peru, formed in 1972 and still active today. They initially started playing Cumbia and Instrumental Rock, developing a distinctive style known as "Elegant Sound," characterized by its melodic and sober qualities. As part of the Golden Age of Peruvian Cumbia in the early 70s, the band has an extensive discography with over 50 releases. In 2007, they received the Apdayc Award for Best Classic Tropical Group.
