Los Saicos is a Peruvian garage rock and proto-punk band that originated in Lince, near Lima, Peru. Active initially from 1964 to 1966, with a brief reunion in 1969, they have been active again since 2010. The band is recognized as one of the most original and influential Latin American bands of the 1960s, notable for their unique approach of creating original compositions in Spanish rather than imitating British groups. The group initially formed in 1960 under the name Los Cometas. They were inspired by American surf rock, and during one of their rehearsals, they created a song called "Demolición," which was released in May 1965 and became a significant hit. Over their career, they released five singles. After leaving their label in 1966, they sought deals with other labels but struggled with promotion. Los Saicos gained cult fame in the late 1990s and 2000s, leading to their reunion in 2010 when members Erwin Flores, Rolando "El Chino" Carpio, César "Papi" Castrillón, and Francisco "Pancho" Guevara performed songs like "Cementerio," "Camisa De Fuerza," "Ana," "El Entierro De Los Gatos," and "Demolición." Their legacy continues to thrive with ongoing performances. Original line-up: - Erwin Flores (voice and guitar) - Rolando "
