Los Teen Tops is a Mexican rock 'n roll band that was formed in Mexico City in 1959. They are recognized as one of the pioneers of the first wave of rock music sung in Spanish, where translating popular rock 'n roll songs into Spanish was a common practice. Their debut single, released in May 1960 as a 78 rpm record, featured the songs "La plaga," a Spanish adaptation of Little Richard's "Good Golly Miss Molly," and "El rock de la cárcel," a Spanish adaptation of Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock." The original line-up included Armando Martínez "El Manny" on vocals and rhythm guitar, Sergio Martell on piano, Jesus Martínez "El Tutti" on guitar, Rogelio Tenorio on bass, and Armando Martínez on drums.
