Los York's was a prominent rock & roll band from the Rímac district of Lima, Peru, active during the 1960s and '70s. The group, fronted by vocalist Pablo Luna, included Walter Paz on lead guitar, Roman Palacios on rhythm guitar, Jesus Vilchez on bass, and Pacho Aguilar on drums. Initially formed in 1966, they drew inspiration from the British Invasion and American garage rock, with Luna's powerful vocals adding a unique flair to their music. As they evolved, the band began to experiment with sound, incorporating noise and feedback into their performances, particularly through Paz's guitar work. Their debut album, "Los York's 67," showcased their straightforward rock style, while their second album, "Los York's 68," marked a shift toward psychedelia, featuring a notable cover of Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love." By their final album, "Los York's 69," Paz had left the band, and Palacios took over as lead guitarist, with Miguel Quiroz joining as the new rhythm guitarist. Los York's remained active, performing and releasing singles until their disbandment in 1974. Over the years, their reputation grew, leading to reissues of their albums in Peru and Europe.
