Lou Perez is an American songwriter, percussionist, and guitarist, best known as one of the founding members of the band Los Lobos, which was formed in 1973. He was born on January 29, 1953, in Los Angeles, California. Perez is also associated with the Latin Playboys. He should not be confused with Louis "Chickie" Perez, a percussionist who played in the bands of Tito Puente and Eddie Palmieri, or with the New York bandleader, composer, and producer.
