Louis Jordan and His Tympany Five was an American popular music group that recorded from the 1930s until the 1970s. During the 1940s, they became the most popular recording band in the emerging rhythm and blues genre, achieving eighteen No. 1 hits, making them the third most successful singles artist in Billboard R&B charts history. Their 1946 recording of "Choo Choo Ch'Boogie" notably spent eighteen weeks at No. 1, tying for the record for the most weeks at that position.
