**Love Spirals Downwards Bio** Love Spirals Downwards was formed in the late 1980s by multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Ryan Lum. The project gained momentum in 1991 with the addition of vocalist Suzanne Perry, who was also Lum's girlfriend. Their early demo tracks garnered international attention, marking the beginning of their successful career as one of Projekt Records' notable artists. The band’s debut album, *Idylls*, received various labels, including ethereal and darkwave, due to its unique sound. By their second release, *Ardor*, they embraced the shoegaze movement. Their third album, *Ever*, featured a more stripped-down sound while incorporating trip-hop elements. The last studio album, *Flux*, showcased a blend of jungle break beats with their established ethereal, folk, and world influences. In January 2000, they released *Temporal: A Collection of Music Past & Present*, a compilation that highlighted their evolution and included contributions from various guest artists. The first two albums were licensed to a German label, which included unique versions of their tracks in the *Heavenly Voices* compilation series. Although primarily a recording project, Love Spirals Downwards performed live about a dozen times, mainly at Projekt Festivals, with their last show occurring in 1998.
