Lucky Dragons is a collaborative project formed by Luke Fischbeck and Sarah Rara, along with additional members Sara Diaz and Jasmine Albuquerque. The name "Lucky Dragons" is inspired by a Japanese fishing boat affected by a hydrogen bomb test at Bikini Atoll in the 1950s, which became a symbol of global anti-nuclear sentiment. Fischbeck and Rara have presented interactive performances and installations at notable venues including MOCA Los Angeles, The Smell, the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, among others. Their work focuses on creating new and temporary experiences that foster cooperation among audience members, building fragile networks through shared interactions. These experiences can range from intimate gatherings to large public spectacles, emphasizing the joy of collective play and the exploration of technological presence. Lucky Dragons also engages in sister projects, including a weekly collaborative drawing society and a small press and internet community.
