Lucky Millinder was an American swing and R&B bandleader, born on August 8, 1910, in Anniston, Alabama. He passed away on September 28, 1966, in New York City, New York. Millinder was married to a songwriter from the 1940s until their separation in 1953. In recognition of his contributions to music, he was inducted into the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame in 1986.
