Luis Vecchio was a jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and teacher born on April 4, 1941, in Buenos Aires. He began his musical studies there before pursuing higher education at the Berklee School in Boston, USA. In 1975, he moved to Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, Spain, where he established the first jazz school on the islands, named Vec, with locations in Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. For nearly three decades, he was active in promoting jazz music and training local musicians. Later in his life, he returned to Buenos Aires, where he passed away in 2005.
