Luther Ingram was an American singer and songwriter born on November 30, 1937, in Jackson, Tennessee. He passed away on March 19, 2007. Ingram co-wrote the hit song "Respect Yourself," which became a major success for The Staple Singers in the early 1970s. His most notable achievement as a recording artist came in 1972 with the release of "(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Want To Be Right."
