Lyn Collins was born on June 12, 1948, in Lexington, Texas, U.S.A., and passed away on March 13, 2005, in Pasadena, California, U.S.A. She is best known for her biggest solo hit, the gospel-style song "Think (About It)," which was produced by James Brown and featured on her 1972 album of the same name, released on People Records. The song includes five breaks that have been extensively sampled in hip-hop and drum and bass music. Notably, the "Yeah! Woo!" and "It takes two to make a thing go right" loops from "Think" are prominently featured in Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock's "It Takes Two," which is largely composed of samples from Collins' work, including several lines of her vocals.
