Mable John was a singer and songwriter born on November 3, 1930, in Bastrop, Louisiana. She had a career as a recording artist in the late 1950s and early 1960s and joined the backing singers The Raelets in 1962. From 1966 to 1968, John recorded as a solo artist again for the label. She later rejoined The Raelets but soon left to focus on Christian music. Mable John was the sister of other notable individuals. She passed away on August 25, 2022.
