Madleen Kane is a Swedish disco singer and model, born on March 4, 1958, in Malmö. She began her career as a photo model for Ford Models in New York. In 1978, she signed a record deal with producer Jean-Claude Friederich and released her debut single "Rough Diamond," which became a worldwide hit. In 1980, her song "Cherchez pas" reached number 18 on the Swedish charts. She collaborated with Giorgio Moroder in 1981, resulting in hits like "You Can" and "Playing for Time." Throughout her career, she had five singles on the US Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. Her 1994 compilation album, "12 Inches and More," gained significant popularity in the US. Madleen has also published a biography detailing her life, from her childhood to the glamorous lifestyle she experienced as an artist and model. The book covers her marriage, struggles with alcoholism, experiences of sexual abuse, and family matters, and is titled after her debut album, "Rough Diamond."
