Mahjun was a French psychedelic, progressive, and folk underground band that emerged in the early to mid-1970s. Originally established as Maajun, they later subtly changed their name to Mahjun. The band released two eponymous albums on the Saravah label and a third album titled "Happy French Band" on Gratte-Ciel. Their music was characterized by eccentric French progressive sounds infused with folk and cultural references. After the band disbanded in the late 1970s, Jean-Louis Lefebvre formed a new, short-lived version of Mahjun before continuing his career as a solo artist.
